TVXQ - Path to the Tokyo Dome

It has been made known that the first round of tickets for SS501's much anticipated Asia Tour was sold out in just 30 minutes! Their "1st ASIA TOUR PERSONA" concert will take place at the Seoul Olympic Park on both August 1st and August 2nd.

Upon hearing the good news, SS501 responded, Being that this is our first Asia Tour Concert, we are very touched by our fans," and, "We want to thank our fans again. We will work hard to give an extraordinary performance." Following their tour in Seoul, they will cover many other areas such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
This year will definitely be an eventful one for the boys of SS501, as they will not only be touring around all of Asia, but will also be preparing for their second album which is expected to release some time in July. Geez, with the leader already toppling over from exhaustion, you'd think DSP Media / Entertainment would cut them a little slack. SS501 better get in tip top shape before the tour starts, or their health will suffer.
On a side note, for the fans who missed out on the first round of tickets, the second round will be up for sale near the end of June!
With the pending June 24th release of Big Bang's first Japanese single "My Heaven," Big Bang has something special planned for the fans. Big Bang will be holding a special release party at the famed Tokyo Dome for 10,000 people which will include music dignitaries and fans alike.
You usually have to work very hard before holding any type of event at the Tokyo Dome, but Big Bang has the connections because they're signed with a big label (Universal Music). Big Bang is also scheduled to appear on popular music show "Music Japan" on June 28th. Big Bang has everything set in place, now let's see how successful they'll be in Japan.
Remember how SNSD's Horror Movie Factory on MBC was recently cancelled? Well, you won't have to miss them too much because they're coming back on a KBS show called "SNSD's Hello Baby"! That was quick, right?
On this show, SNSD are given the mission of taking care of and living with a newborn baby of busy parents. They will have to feed the baby, bathe the baby, play with the baby and basically be the mothers for a day. Yes, everything fanboys can only fantasize about. I can already hear the cries of fanboys wanting to be in the baby's position.
These girls please the eyes and ears of many fans, but will they be able to please the baby? We'll have to wait and see!

It has only been a few months since the girls have wrapped up their 'Gee' promotions and they're back so soon?
Netizens have been very observant of the girls lately.
Firstly, members Seohyun, Sunny and Sooyoung have been sporting headwear during recent performances, leading netizens to believe they had dyed their hair in order for the new concept. Tiffany's new and brighter hair color on Music Core brought about curiosity as well. Also along the topic of hair, yesterday, Sooyoung filmed SBS variety show BoongUhPang (Fish Bread) where her mom and sister were also featured. Witnesses say Sooyoung cut her hair short and are also saying that Tiffany will as well, just like her debut days!
A recent music video shoot had been confirmed by Tiffany on Jeon Hyun Mu's Freeway Radio, where Tiffany called in during a break from the music video shoot to talk to her "The Blue" seniors who were guests on the radio.
In addition to all of this, Wonder Girls' stylist, Lee Euna, is the rumored new stylist and her first job was the girls' Hollywood Bowl outfits. This news seems to be true as on Lee Euna's cyworld, she posted up pictures of the girls. And on the new Hahaha campaign pictures she wrote "The first Hahaha outfit didn't go perfectly with the campaign so I tried this new one."
The album cover was shot on the 5th and you can see the makeup in the Dongyang College Festival from the same day.
Soshi To Make A Second Comeback of 2009?
And finally, a Cinderella Man staff member supposedly heard the girls' new song. Although it's not certain if it is the comeback title song or not, the song sounded like a pop song.
Turning their fans' Charmander embers into a Charizard inferno, 2NE1 has won their first-ever Mutizen for Fire on SBS Inkigayo. This was their 4th after picking up 3 awards at the recent Cyworld Digital Music awards.
Even though the single was released more than a month ago, it seems that Fire's flame is burning hotter than ever. Even the boy-band fire hoses of SuJu's "It's You", SHINee's "Juliette" and 2PM's "Hate You" could not put out this song. [insert more corny fire-related puns] Semi-surprisingly, Park Bom was the only one who really choked up (though you could see Minji tear up a bit during the encore).
Most K-artists, overcome by the magnitude that is national recognition for one's years of training, bawl their eyes out with their first victory. Congrats to the girls; for winning an award simply based on a lone debut single is highly impressive. There will undoubtedly be more to come from this female foursome of YG Entertainment. Apparently Interscope's eye is better than those that are styling Dara's hair.
Singer Solbi has expressed her opinions and sent thankful thoughts towards 2PM’s Thai member, Nichkhun who had rooted for her for her attempt on becoming a figure skater and also revealed their sincere friendship.
On the morning of 14th June at around 2.30am, Solbi had updated the photo section on her Cyworld minihompy setting the topic, “Nichkhun & I”, and posted a photo taken together with Nichkhun with the caption, “The moment Nichkhun entered the ice rink, I was pleased to see him and was surprised too. But I was so glad to see him.”
Solbi also added, “Something I realized whenever I see him is that, he seems to be a friend who is full of energy” and “His passion of always working hard even though he came from far away and must be lonely. How he always seems to smiles so brightly like an angel”, and revealed their friendship.
Nickhun also appeared on the 12th June episode of MNET's ‘Ice Princess’ where he presented a bicycle to Solbi as a gift, along with a cheering message.
Looks like the two of them have gotten closer through SBS Star King, where the two appear weekly. It’s nice to see our Thai prince getting friendly with this ‘Ice Princess’. Check out Nichkhun’s surprise appearance and the picture of the two together below.

DBSK, Super Junior and Girls Generation Join Forces!!

South Korea's Seoul Dream Series has recently launched a series of CF advertising tourism in Seoul, and so far, you don't care. However, let me just start spitting out some letters that you might care more about: TVXQ, SNSD and SUJU. That's right all three groups in one commercial. Are your panties wet yet? No? Well what if I told you that they were all half naked in the CF?! Well, then I would be a lying sack of shitake because they're not.
There are four versions of the CF, a Shanghai version with Super Junior and Victoria Song, a second Shanghai version with TVXQ, a Japanese version with TVXQ and an English version with TVXQ, SNSD and SUJU.

The following are profile pictures of Ji Yoon, Ga Yoon, Hyun Ah, Ji Hyun and So Hyun (from left to right). Having already won triple crowns on MNET M! Countdown and SBS Inkigayo, one would assume that 2PM would have naturally be a winner on KBS2TV Music Bank's K-Chart as well with Again & Again. But before the 12th June episode of Music Bank though, despite continously being in the top 3, 2PM simply could not take the No.1 spot as it came up against the brick wall known as Super Junior. Then they had to take a backseat last week, as they fell out of the top 3 and saw SHINee claim the K-Chart on their return. One would have thought, that's it for 2PM on Music Bank, they have no luck.
But to everyone's surprise, 2PM finally tasted victory with their first-ever K-Chart win for Again & Again. Victory would no doubt be ultra sweet for the 2PM boys after waiting for so long. The winner from last week, SHINee, surprisingly dropped out of the top 3, leaving 2PM's Again & Again facing up against Davichi, SeeYa, Ji Yeon's Woman's Generation and last but not least, Super Junior's It's You. The scores were close between the 3 groups, with only a few hundred points difference, but 2PM prevailed in the end with 6,903 points, and Jaebeom expressing that he was very happy.
YG Entertainment has finally let 2NE1 loose from their Inkigayo holding cell, as the group performed "Fire" on KBS Music Bank for the first time since their debut.

Sporting clothes similar to that in their Space version MV, instead of the usual Street-style clothes, 2NE1 displayed a feminine, but still strong image that will probably be more visible on their next album. 15 year old maknae Minji also does the friggin splits, igniting many a pedo imagination. Chest thrusting, leg splitting, what's next?
Well, whatever she does, she'll soon be doing it stateside, as from late June to early July, 2NE1 is planning to head on over to America! The rookies, along with their YG producers, will be in Los Angeles, California, working on their next album with producers from the legendary Interscope Records. Interscope Records is one of the top entertainment companies in the United States, boasting big-name artists such as Dr. Dre, the Pussycat Dolls, the Black Eyed Peas, and Lady Gaga.
Interscope's chairman, Jimmy Iovine, recently showed his admiration for 2NE1, and apparently shares a good friendship with Yang Hyun Suk, founder of YG Entertainment. The two have been exchanging music ideas and are apparently starting to collaborate, with 2NE1 hoping to churn out hits akin to Interscope's other hip-hop acts. This collision of cultures is undoubtedly intriguing, but just to clear up any misunderstanding, 2NE1 is only working on their album - not promoting themselves in the US.
But who knows where this collaboration of companies may lead (along with other Korea-US joint projects like the Wonder Girls & The Jonas Brothers)? The potential is endless. DBSK & Justin Timberlake? Lee Hyori & Beyonce? Epik High & Kanye?
The US music industry's first close interaction with a Korean artist isn't a SHINee or SNSD type group, as their concepts don't really blend with the American music atmosphere, and would only lead to cultural confusion and a bad US impression of the Korean music industry. Start off with an image like 2NE1, lessen the culture shock, and ease American music powers into our world of K-Pop. That seems like the safest and least chaotic course of action, which will lead to less inane arguments about the merits of Xiah Junsu and Justin Timberlake, and more collaborations like the one YG and Interscope have planned.

[06.09.09] Girls' Generation Horror Show Cancelled

The Sunday night broadcast of "Girls' Generation Horror Factory" is said to be canceled after 6 episodes. Even though the show has showcased the girl's skills and talent in acting, low ratings have caused MBC to shut production down early. This unfortunate turn of events does not mean the end for Girl's Generation as there are many other opportunities for them to look forward to. The last episode of "Horror Factory" is set to air on June 14th.
Many are asking about "low ratings." The show only accumulated 3.3% of Korean viewers...most likely all Soshi fans. l

According to Naver, Taeyang's album will be a full album (not a mini) and is scheduled to be released in either August or September. It will be produced by YG Entertainment's rising producer and 1Tym Member Teddy. Currently, Teddy is busy working on 2NE1's album but he'll immediately shift his full focus over to Taeyang once the work on 2NE1's album is complete.
Taeyang enjoyed much success during his solo release last summer. And I believe he'll find even more success again this time around. No word on G-Dragon's solo album, but it looks like it's been pushed to the back burner for now.
Apparently lots of people. Kim Hyun Joong took the top spot as the male celebrity whom women want to be kissed by. Jewelry brand Stylus by Golden Dew in honor of 6/14's Kiss Day [Yes, there is apparently a Kiss Day*] took a survey on their homepage asking "Which male celebrity would you want to be kissed by?"
The results came out as 34% wanting to receive a kiss from Kim Hyun Joong followed by a very close 32% wanting to be kissed by Lee Min Ho. This seems to show the lingering popularity of the F4 and the BOF effect. 3rd place was Song Seung Hun with 15%, then Jo In Sung (13%) in 4th place, and 5th place by Lee Seung Gi (6%).

[TRANS] Recording NHK Eco Song & Celebrating Yuchun's Birthday (TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki/東方神起/동방신기)
Xiah Junsu from DBSK / TVXQ / Tohoshinki, showed Mama and Papa Dolphin some lovin' by buying them a beautiful, luxurious townhouse. From the maps and pictures, we can see that there are two spacious floors as well as a basement. The parents are lucky (almost as lucky as Won Bin's parents) to have given birth to a dolphin like Xiah Junsu. ETN News gives us an inside look, check it out.

Kim Hyun Joong seems to be one of the hardest working guys in the business right now - but his career is seriously affecting his health and worrying fans!
Hyun Joong was rushed to the hospital yesterday morning after collapsing from high fever. Because of this unfortunate incident, SS501's trip to Thailand to promote their concert tour has been canceled, while Hyun Joong takes a needed break.

2009 Jingu Fireworks Festival Tickets is Sold Out in 1 Day
Tohoshinki in sponsored by Nikkan Sports is performing for 2009 Meiji Jingu Fireworks Festival on August 6th and thousands fireworks will be lighted up to decorate a beautiful stage.
As soon as the official announcement that Tohoshinki would make appearance at the event was out on June 5th, the whole tickets of the event were sold out and some tickets are already traded on internet auction site.
12,000 fireworks will be shot to decorate the night sky at Jingu Stadium and live show is held at 4 locations at National Stadium. Tohoshinki’s arena at the National Stadium is available for more than 50,000 audiences.
In case of the sold out ticket, the event organizer commented “I haven’t been able to sell all the tickets of this event before. This is, yet again, shows the power of Tohoshinki.” He didn’t hide his surprise.

A representative of SM Entertainment says, "Although Yoona wants to join the members, she has to concentrate on recording her parts which was delayed."
In fact, she had no time to relax since she had to record Cinderella Man right after KBS You Are My Destiny.

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's Jaejoong was voted to be the top "Prince" in Japan according to a poll conducted by the Japanese portal site "Barks." The poll took place over 6 days from April 14 to April 20 and more than 30% of the vote (around 8000 votes) went to Jaejoong. I believe Jaejoong was the only non-Japanese in the poll and he beat out many top nominees such as Keita Tachibana from W-inds, Domoto Koichi from KinKi Kids, YOSHIKI from X Japan, and many others.
Comments on the Barks poll page left for Jaejoong range from 10 year old kids to 40 year old housewives, with comments such as: "Take me back to Korea with you," "I love You," and "I want to hug him forever."
